Your Own Kosher Chanukah Gift Baskets
Why
a kosher Chanukah gift basket?
If
you are planning to give a Chanukah gift basket to Jewish friends,
family or colleagues, it's important that you check whether they
observe Jewish dietary law. If so, the food products you put in
your Chanukah gift basket must be kosher. If you're not sure, it's
best to be on the safe side and give kosher treats.
What
to put in your kosher Chanukah gift basket
Making
your own kosher Hanukkah gift basket is fun and adds a personal
touch. First look around for an attractive basket, hamper, box or
container to form the base of your Chanukah gift basket. Once you've
made your choice, you're ready to start filling it with Chanukah
goodies.
If
you can find kosher foil-wrapped chocolate coins, these will make
a great additional to your Chanukah gift basket. Even grown-ups
probably have fond memories of receiving these (referred to as 'Chanukah
gelt') as children, so it's bound to get a smile. If you can't find
the chocolate coins - or just to splash out - add a few kosher chocolates.
Nibbles are also welcome at Chanukah, so nuts, dried fruits and
other kosher sweet treats would also make good additions to your
basket.
Since
oil lamps and candles are an important feature of the Chanukah
Story, candles are also a good gift to give. It's normally quite
easy to find hanukkah candles, but any sort of attractive candle
would make a good gift. In keeping with Chanukah's oil theme you
could also give an attractive jar of Virgin Olive Oil, and oil lamp,
aromatherapy oils etc. Just use your imagination!
